When a family member dies, it is important not to keep these 4 items

Losing a loved one turns everything upside down. Daily life, familiar routines, emotions… And often, we try to cling to what remains: objects, clothes, a scent, a book on a table. But not all material memories are helpful. Some, on the contrary, can hinder the grieving process, maintaining a painful rather than a soothing connection.

Without resorting to superstition or prohibitions, it’s helpful to know which objects  are best avoided  after a death. Not to forget, but to free yourself, move forward… and make room for serenity.

  1. The clocks stopped at the moment of death

This detail may seem insignificant, almost poetic: a clock frozen at the time of departure. Yet, in many traditions, this powerful symbol represents a standstill in time…  which can unconsciously prevent one from moving forward.
