How to Ensure a True 40°C Wash
If you want your laundry to really be washed at 40°C, try these tips:
Use a higher setting: Choose a 60°C program. Often, the real temperature will then be closer to 40–45°C.
Select “Hygiene” or “Intensive” programs: These modes are less likely to reduce the temperature.
Turn off Eco Mode, if your machine allows it.
Run periodic maintenance washes at 60–90°C to clean the drum and ensure hygienic performance.
Why It Matters for Your Laundry
Washing at lower temperatures is usually enough for light soiling, but certain cases require a true 40°C or higher:
Baby clothes and underwear
Clothes with body oils or sweat
Towels and kitchen cloths
If you consistently wash these at too low a temperature, you may notice unpleasant odors, residue buildup, or poor stain removal.
