During the wedding ceremony, they brought us a coffin with a bow in the shape of a gift – I almost fainted when they opened it
He didn’t answer. Instead, he smiled—a wide, goofy smile—and lifted the lid.
I was speechless. Inside the coffin was nothing I’d feared. No sinister surprise, no macabre joke. Instead, there was a large, framed portrait of Jakub, wrapped in a huge bow as if it were a gift.

For a second, I was too stunned to react. My brain struggled to process what I was seeing. Suddenly, Jacob’s other friends jumped from behind the coffin, shouting, “Surprise!!!”
I stood there, paralyzed, trying to comprehend what was happening. My mind jumped from panic to confusion, then to… understanding. Slowly, I realized it was a joke. An absurd, exaggerated prank played by Jakub’s friends. The coffin, the portrait, everything. They symbolized the fact that Jakub was “dead” to them now that he was getting married.

“You’re kidding,” I muttered, still in shock.
Derek burst out laughing, clearly pleased with himself. “He’s married! He’s gone forever!” he shouted, pointing to Jacob’s photo. The other guys laughed too, patting each other on the back as if they’d just pulled the best joke of all time.
