Ingredients:
1 large cabbage head
1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
1/2 cup cooked rice
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cups tomato sauce (or crushed tomatoes, divided)
1 egg
2–3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning (optional)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Olive oil, for sautéing
Instructions:
Prep the Cabbage:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Carefully remove the core from the cabbage.
Place the whole head in boiling water. As leaves soften, peel them off (use tongs), about 2–3 minutes per leaf. Set aside 12–15 large leaves for rolling.
